As soon as you choose the type of clear aligner you want, we will take x-rays of your teeth and jaw and create dental impressions that'll be used to make your aligners. After we receive your aligners, a team member will call you to schedule a fitting. You should expect to have appointments every few weeks. During these appointments, we will assess your progress and give you new aligners as your teeth change. In the event you lose or damage an aligner, just give us a call and we can have replacement aligners made so that it is possible to continue treatment without having to wait until your next appointment. Based on the position of your teeth and the total amount of correction needed, your prescribed orthodontic treatment could last 12 – 24 months (about eight stages of treatment).

We will require regular visits to monitor your progress and to make adjustments as needed. It is also extremely important to keep your teeth and your aligners clean so you don't end up with tooth decay. Flossing, brushing, and rinsing with mouthwash after you take out the aligners is a fantastic habit to start. You should also rinse or clean the aligners before putting them back in your mouth. It's important to keep your aligners in their protective case while eating so you don't lose them.

Once your treatment is complete, you may need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth from going back to their initial place. We will walk you through this process. You should continue to make annual dental exams in Concerned Dental Care so our team can monitor your teeth, alignment, and total dental health.

About Us

Benefits of Using Clear Aligners Compared to Traditional Braces

  • Aesthetics: Clear aligners are nearly invisible, making them much more discreet than metal braces. This is especially appealing for adults and teens who may feel self-conscious about wearing visible orthodontic appliances.
  • Comfort: Clear aligners are made of smooth plastic, which is generally more comfortable than the metal brackets and wires of traditional braces. They cause less irritation to the gums, cheeks, and lips.
  • Removability: Unlike fixed braces, clear aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. This allows for easier maintenance of oral hygiene and no dietary restrictions.
  • Improved oral hygiene: The ability to remove clear aligners makes it easier to brush and floss normally, reducing the risk of plaque buildup and cavities that can occur with traditional braces.
  • Convenience: Clear aligner treatment often requires fewer orthodontic appointments compared to traditional braces. Many patients also experience faster treatment times, depending on the complexity of their case.
  • Customization: Clear aligners are custom-made for each patient using advanced 3D imaging technology, ensuring a precise fit and more predictable results.
  • Lifestyle flexibility: The removable nature of clear aligners allows them to integrate more seamlessly into patients' daily lives, particularly for activities like eating, speaking, and playing sports.

Having straighter teeth not only makes your smile appear better, but it can also improve your oral well-being and give you a more comfortable bite. At Concerned Dental Care, we are proud to offer a variety of clear aligner choices. Contact our office in New York City, NY or your nearest New York area office to learn more.

Disclaimer

It's important to note that while clear aligners are effective for many dental conditions, severe cases or complex orthodontic issues may still require traditional braces or other interventions. Additionally, proper oral hygiene practices and regular dental check-ups are still crucial for maintaining optimal gum health during treatment. Severe periodontal issues or other dental conditions may need to be addressed before starting clear aligner treatment. The success of clear aligner treatment also heavily depends on patient compliance in wearing the aligners as prescribed. A dentist or orthodontist can determine if clear aligners are suitable for a specific case.
