Dental health is vital for each member of the household, no matter their age. At Concerned Dental Care, we invite parents to schedule their child's first visit to the dentist before their first birthday. From that point, parents should make sure their children visit the dentist at least two times per year for cleanings and examinations. Our purpose is to provide your child an enjoyable and peaceful visit to any of our New York City, NY offices so they have a positive association with visiting the dentist that can last the rest of their life. During their dental visit, our dental team will evaluate the development of their teeth, look for issues or areas of concern, and educate them on how best to keep a proper oral care routine at home. To learn more information about pediatric dentistry for your children, contact us to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists.
Who Needs Pediatric Dental Care?
Infants can experience cavities and tooth decay as young as two years old. Concerned Dental Care offers preventive options and treatments to help keep the teeth before decay occurs. Your child might have their baby (primary) teeth for many years, so it's still important to keep their teeth in good health while your child develops permanent teeth. This means scheduling appointments twice every year for exams and cleanings. Throughout their visits, we may identify early issues, like cavities or a bad bite, and also recommend procedures like sealants, in-office fluoride treatments, or orthodontics.

Nikky is the best So patient and friendly make you feel so comfortable
Dr. Vicente is very friendly and has a great bedside manner. I usually make my appointments before work, and it's pretty seamless. I am generally in and out quickly. Jenny (hygienist) was very helpful and answered all of my questions. She also made sure that she didn't cause any unnecessary discomfort during the exam.
Broke my front tooth on a Thursday called my OLD Dentist right away- no one answered the phone left message,(5 hours before closing)next day called me to give me appointment 4 days later !!! Went to appointment- and was told I had to go to another consult - ok tried making that appt was 20 days away - no compassion, no empathy. I called CONCERNED DENTAL and got an appointment within 2 hours- VERY NICE, EVERYONE!! I saw Dr Asghar- a dear- very nice and explained everything he was doing as he was doing it- (a lost art) I will no longer be a patient at Great Expressions even though I liked the dentist. I now have a new dentist and he made me SMILE!!! THANK YOU, CONCERNED DENTAL-You lived up to your name in my eyes!!
Staff was excellent.
Giving my full thanks to Korrine, Cindy, Kylie, and of course Dr Ramos who were all so amazing at getting me in on a whim from breaking a wisdom tooth off and getting it out. I was in so much pain the night before I couldnt even sleep, Dr Ramos was able to get the damn thing out in about 15 seconds after giving me PLENTY of novacaine so I didnt feel a thing.

What Should I Expect During My Child's Visit?
Quite a few issues may be addressed at your child's dental visit. Normally, their appointment will consist of a dental exam and a professional cleaning. Following their cleaning, a fluoride treatment may also be suggested in order to strengthen the teeth while they are developing. Additionally, sealants are usually suggested to reduce tooth cavities and decay. We may also correct teeth that are already showing decay or are chipped, damaged, or broken by creating an effective treatment plan. Eventually, we might recommend orthodontics to align their bite, which might prevent future dental problems.
Is Follow-Up Necessary With Pediatric Dentistry?
If we find a problem during your child's dental cleaning or examination, we may ask you to schedule a follow-up appointment for a procedure. Following your child's cleaning and/or exam, we will go over the most important part of an oral hygiene regimen: daily flossing and brushing. We will also demonstrate techniques on the right way to brush and floss to avoid issues.
